So I was in the lovely Raindrops on Roses in St Albans http://www.raindropsonroses.org.uk/ to have a look at gifts and found the lovely kits to make lip balm by The Homemade Company.
They were £15 full price (though ours were reduced) and contain all you need to make chocolate lip balm all you need to add is vegetable / olive oil. They have cocoa butter, chocolate, vitamin E, a wooden stirrer, a measuring cup for the oil, little pots and stickers to put homemade on.
Firstly get all the ingredients and put them in a saucepan. Heat the saucepan on the hob for a couple of minutes and make sure everything is stirred together. Once everything has melted add the goods to the little pots. We put them in the fridge to cool as its been so hot out and they solidified really quickly.
Its not something a child could do by themselves until they are at least 12/13 due to having to use the hob.
We really enjoyed making lip balm. Its definitely something I would make again but would source the ingredients seperately and make some for Xmas gifts. We had lots of fun and The Boy enjoyed watching and helping put the ingredients in the sauce pan. He also enjoyed trying the lip balm at the end.
